About

“Always Stir – to enjoy things near and far away, to engage in new activities, to marvel at natural wonders, to seek out inspirations, to thrill in an adventure, to be invigorated by the rush of adrenaline and laugh uncontrollably, to appreciate your surroundings, tantalizing your taste buds and doing it all over again at every chance you get. To really play regardless of your age…”

This is our motto, it is our way of making the most out of life. It is a bucket list with a twist, instead of waiting for a dire prognosis to begin living. Start small right now and let your list grow. The trick is to discover those things that merit doing repeatedly. Thwarting the real flaw of a bucket list, which is finding the joy in something too late in life. Realizing how long you have missed out on enjoying this activity or thing that you have discovered. Be it travel, sports, food, another culture, a hobby or some great adventure…

This blog has been in the works for a very long time in my mind. However, it was a skiing accident that ended with my son enduring the pain of a broken leg, along with a cancelled spring break vacation, that compelled me to begin this. Initially, it was a project to help distract Corbin from the pain of his injury. By documenting fun things we could find for him to do while he was recuperating, we started on this journey of discovery. The lesson learned was, when life hands you lemons, make lemonade and may you be drinking that lemonade somewhere fun like Disneyland. So, the beginning few months of this blog are dedicated to Corbin and his recovery. Once his cast comes off, we will begin blogging once a week about activities, food and destinations that we are traveling to both locally and far away. Giving you a glimpse of some exceptionally worthy places to visit for the enjoyment and sights but especially the food…

A lot of travel reviews and guides will always feature the best of the best that can often be extremely difficult to reach by distance or expense. We have become masters at a three or four day vacation. If you are the type of traveller that takes a vacation only a few times a year, it is nice to be able to arrive at a destination where you can indulge yourself at a few places that come highly recommended. I like to find exceptional places by word of mouth, that are easy to get into and that will blow your mind. Whether it is amazing french toast with butter pecan sauce in San Francisco, or a quiche in Portland or finding a thrilling activity like zip lining through a beautiful forrest. We have found places that we would literally drive across the country for. Of course we usually fly, but that is how ridiculously fabulous they are.
