Star Wars Experience coming soon to Disneyland

DSC01628F A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I was only 8 years old and would have been as excited back then, as I am now to hear about the new Disneyland and Disney World expansions.

Star Wars Land when it opens will be approximately fourteen acres of new immersive rides and experiences in the Star Wars universe. This will Include a ride that will put you at the helm of the Millenium Falcon. Also, we will finally be able to put aside all wonder as to what Jawa juice really tastes like! The official opening date has not been announced but construction is beginning soon. Sadly, this will mean the closure of a few rides during construction. Most notably; Fantasmic, the Disneyland Railroad, Mark Twain River Boat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Davy Crocket Canoes, Tom Sawyer Island and Big Thunder Ranch. Star Wars Land will take a portion of Frontierland. Reports are that December 2018 is the target for opening, but we will have to wait for an official opening date. Until then you will be able to enjoy a few new Star Wars experiences in the park. Space Mountain has temporarily been transformed into Hyperspace Mountain. Innoventions has been transformed into a Marvel and Star Wars meet and greet including an extensive Star Wars exhibit. You can also enjoy a new short film “The Path of a Jedi” located in the Tomorrowland Theatre. Star Tours will also have the addition of new destinations once the new Star Wars film opens in a few days. Enjoy Season of the Force at Disneyland.
