Re learning Stairs
Master the art of going up and down stairs on crutches. It is not as easy as it looks! It takes some practice, but you can always go up and down without the crutches on a set of treacherous stairs. It is almost fun!
Starbucks
“The treat of the week,” goes to Starbucks! Go for the coffee, salted caramel hot chocolate or the baked goods. “La Boulange” bakery…they do a pretty good job!

Crutch Lights
If you think fumbling in the dark is tough, try fumbling in the dark with a broken leg, crutches and no light. A great time to source out where all of your flashlights, smartphones, tablets and candles are is when the lights are on. Be prepared for power outages and the need to get up in the middle of the night. Better yet, outfit your crutches with LED lights made for a bike, they are small, inexpensive and work like a charm…

Nothing makes a vacation better than some effective pre planning. If you are planning to go to multiple events or locations on your trip, do you need to rent a car? Rent DVD Series
Rent your favourite TV show and watch an entire season or the entire series. Believe it or not, you can still find places that rent DVD’s. Often, they are found at video game rental shops. Our little secret location is Willow Video and they have $1.99 Mondays!
Video Gaming
Games are everywhere nowadays. If you have a console, smartphone, computer or tablet, you might find yourself engrossed in a game with a story that takes a long time to learn and navigate through. Or, maybe you just want to break up the monotony of lying around by spending a few minutes trying to beat an old classic like Pac-man. Either way, it is crucial to keep your leg up as much as possible to prevent swelling during the first few weeks of a broken leg. Otherwise, your Doctor might have to redo the cast to relieve the pressure! So, find ways to keep your leg up…
Week One
This past week Corbin started planning his next great vacation. He had to re learn how to go up and down stairs. He found out in a hurry where the flashlights were to navigate better in the dark. We also rented a DVD series as we are quickly powering through Netflix. He is mastering his video games and may need to add to his inventory soon.
